This Privacy Policy describes how StradaWay ("we", "our", or "us") collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use the StradaWay mobile application and website (collectively, the "Platform").
By using StradaWay, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the Platform.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following types of information when you use StradaWay:
1.1 Information You Provide
- Name — when you create an account
- Email address — for account registration, login, and communication
- Profile details — such as a display name or profile photo (optional)
- Waitlist name and email — if you ask to be notified about our iOS launch, we store the name and email you provide solely to send you a launch notification. You can request deletion at any time.
1.2 Information from Social Sign-In
StradaWay supports signing in with Google and Apple. When you sign in with either, we receive the following from your account with that provider:
- Your name
- Your email address (with Apple, you may choose to share a private relay address instead of your real one)
- Your profile picture (Google only, if available)
We do not receive your Google or Apple password. This data is used solely to create and manage your StradaWay account. By signing in with Google, you also agree to Google's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service; by signing in with Apple, to Apple's Privacy Policy. You can revoke StradaWay's access at any time via your Google Account permissions or your Apple ID's Sign in with Apple settings.
1.3 Location Information
- Approximate or precise location — used to suggest nearby routes, stops, and points of interest relevant to your trip
- Location access is requested explicitly and can be revoked at any time via your device settings
1.4 Trip & Usage Data
- Trips, itineraries, and routes you create or save on the Platform
- App interactions and feature usage (e.g., trips viewed, searches made)
- Push notification token — to send trip and app updates, if you enable notifications
1.5 Information We Do Not Collect
- We do not currently collect payment information directly
- We do not collect sensitive personal data such as Aadhaar numbers, financial data, or biometric data
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Create and manage your account
- Provide, personalise, and improve the StradaWay platform
- Show location-relevant routes, stops, and travel recommendations
- Allow you to create, save, and share trip itineraries
- Analyse usage trends to improve app performance and features
- Respond to your queries or support requests
We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
4. Data Storage, Security, and Retention
- Your personal data — name, email, location, trips, and account details — is stored exclusively on servers located in India.
- We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (HTTPS) and access controls.
- While we take reasonable precautions, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We encourage you to use a strong password and keep your account credentials confidential.
- Data breach notification: If a personal data breach occurs, we will notify the Data Protection Board of India and affected users as required under Section 8(6) of the DPDPA.
- Retention: We keep your personal data only for as long as needed for the purposes in this policy, or as required by law. Account and trip data is retained until you delete your account (see Section 6).
5. Your Rights
As a user of StradaWay, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
- Delete your account and all associated personal data
- Withdraw consent at any time — for location access via device settings, or for any other processing by contacting us.
- Request a copy of your data in a portable format
- Nominate another individual to exercise these rights on your behalf in the event of your death or incapacity
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [email protected] — you do not need the StradaWay app installed to do this. We will respond within 30 days.
6. Account Deletion
You can delete your StradaWay account at any time from within the app settings. Upon deletion:
- Your personal data (name, email, saved trips) will be permanently removed from our systems within 30 days
- If you signed in with Apple, deleting your account also revokes StradaWay's Sign in with Apple authorization for your Apple ID
- Publicly shared trips or route links may remain visible until manually removed prior to deletion
7. Children's Privacy
StradaWay is intended for adults only. You must be at least 18 years of age to create an account or use the Platform — under the DPDPA, anyone under 18 is a "child," and processing a child's data requires verifiable parental consent, which StradaWay does not currently collect. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact us at [email protected] and we will delete it promptly.
8. Third-Party Links
Our Platform may contain links to third-party websites or services (e.g., maps, booking platforms). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties. We encourage you to review their privacy policies before sharing any information.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will:
- Update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page
- Notify you via email or an in-app notification if the changes are significant
Continued use of StradaWay after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
